Why should you have concrete landscape curbing?

The main reason property owners install concrete landscape curbing is because they are tired of replacing rusted or broken landscape edging. Customers also complain that traditional brick or concrete pavers continuously shift or allow grass to grow through. Our continuous landscape edging is custom shaped around your landscaping at nearly the same cost of former methods.

Curbscapes concrete landscape curbing is the perfect long term solution. Our extruded concrete can follow any curves or designs that your landscape demands. It's not like trying to bend metal to look like a curve. Your edging will be mixed and formed at your job site ensuring you the best custom look possible. We exclusively use fiber meshing to reinforce the cement edging increasing the overall durability and life of the product.

Curbscapes offers:

  • Many colors and designs to choose from.

Process

  1. Trenching
The ground preparation is completed utilizing shovels and a sod cutter. The trench is typically cut 2" deep and 10" wide. This removes any organic material that the edging would be poured over so there is no shifting or settling once the curbing is cured.
  2. Mixing
The concrete is mixed on-site with a self contained trailer and mixer. The mix is made with triple filtered mason sand, cement and fiber reinforcement.
  3. Extrusion
Our extruder produces a concrete curb with compressive strength of 3,700 pounds per square inch. The concrete is shoveled into the electrically driven machine and extrudes a beautiful, continuous concrete landscape border. We can easily handle either straight lines or gentle curves.
  4. Finishing
Once the cement is poured from the machine, the edging is then finished with custom hand tools. As an added precaution, expansion joints are cut into the curbing every three to four feet to allow for proper curing.
  5. Clean-up
Since there is no form work, no cement trucks and no landscape damage, clean-up is minimal. We promise to leave your yard looking even better than when we first arrived!

Colors

There are many colors to choose from. We use a custom product that is guaranteed not to fade nor discolor over time, unlike some cement dyes or powders that fade after only two years. We color the cement after it cures by applying a deep penetrating sealant by hand ensuring no spot is missed. If you decide to go with a color, the color that you choose will be guaranteed for the life of the curbing from fading or discoloration.
